Born in Mexico City in 1977, Raul Cerrillo has become a prominent figure of the Mexican contemporary art scene. His work is characterized by a heavy texture of oils reminiscent of artists like Enrique Canales, using this technique to highlight vibrant color while giving his paintings shadows that balance the composition. His inspiration comes from historic events from past to present day, always rooted in the rich Mexican culture from pre-hispanich times until today.
