In 1990 her work was added to the "Museo Iconografico del Quijote" in Guanajuato. In 1992 the government of Veracruz started awarding the Sofia Bassi Medal in her honor. In 1996 she was added to the Jose Luis Cuevas Museum and "El Color del Aire" a previously unpublished book was released. She received many awards throughout her life. Some of her most celebrated were a Diploma by the Human Rights Comity in NYC, Prefeto di Terni award in Italy, Diploma by the Guatemalan government, among others.
